San Luis Obispo, CA - Alltec Integrated Manufacturing, Inc., has been awarded the injection molding and tool fabrication contract for Den-Mat Holdings Velscope powered by Sapphire. Under the contract Alltec will develop injection mold tooling and manufacture the plastic components for the handheld device along with the single-use barrier

The Velscope powered by Sapphire is a dental device used to identify early lesion detection. Early detection is vital to oral cancer prevention. It is projected that 35,000 Americans will be diagnosed with oral cancer this year, causing approximately 7,500 deaths. The high death rate is a result of oral cancer being found at such a late stage. The instrument, marketed and sold by Den-Mat Holdings, works by providing photo documentation from a compatible digital camera.

"We consider the contract an important win for Alltec because it supports an important movement within the Dental industry. And the jobs created within our corporation is a solid win for San Luis Obispo County at a time when many jobs are leaving the area", stated Alltec President Randall Dennis.

Alltec Integrated Manufacturing, a private corporation, is a leader in custom injection molding specializing in the medical, aerospace, and electronics industries. Corporate headquarters and manufacturing are located in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Den-Mat Corporation was founded in 1974. In February of 2008, DLJ Merchant Banking, a division of Credit Suisse, purchased a majority interest in Den-Mat. Den-Mat Holdings, LLC currently has more than 400 employees and manufactures a complete line of over 150 cosmetic and restorative formulations.
